Angel Gabriel- The most known Angel. Some people say that his name means “The messenger” it’s not rare, because he served God as his Messenger in several occasions. But for our surprise, his name comes from the Hebrew and means “Strong man of God”. I like to think that the painting says that. The strong colors: yellow, red and orange catches the attention first. And when you stay a little longer watching him, the lighter colors like blue and the fine lines of pink molding his form, captivate his essence. Gabriel, the sweet Messenger that said “Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God.” (Lk. 1:30‬), the man that Daniel saw in his vision (Dn. 8:17) and the Strong Angel that declared: “I am Gabriel! I stand in the very presence of God. It was he who sent me to bring you this good news!” (Lk. 1:19).
